At Leicester Piano Academy, we encourage students to undertake musical exams with ABRSM and perform at concerts!
As every student learns and progresses at a different pace, we plan and prepare each lesson to each individual student. Our care and attention enables us to make sure that our students understand what they are thought in every lesson.
From exam material to fun pieces, lessons should be fun, so by having a mix of both, practice becomes enjoyable!
Music theory is a key part of learning any music instrument, being able to read and understand music will help each student to make good progress.
Generally grades 1-5 are covered, as these will cover more that what is needed, however, if a student is studying A-Level music, grades 6-8 are recommended.
We use ABRSM as a preferred exam board, although their requirements can be higher that other exam boards, we feel that this allows each student to become a much rounded musician.
This is achieved by learning the piano with the addition of music theory, sight reading and aural tests as well as a good technique that is required by ABRSM.
